Breaking Ground and Breaking Barriers

Wiradjuri Demolitions Civil didn’t start in a fancy boardroom. It started on-site, with a vision to prove that a 100% Indigenous-owned company could compete at the highest levels of the Australian construction industry. Established in 2010, we’ve grown from a local outfit into a statewide leader, becoming the first Indigenous business in Australia to hold licences for both high-risk demolition and friable asbestos removal.

For us, the work has always been about more than just clearing a site. It’s about professional excellence and cultural pride. We’ve spent over a decade proving that you don’t have to choose between technical expertise and community values. Whether we’re handling complex industrial demolition in regional NSW or managing bulk earthworks for a major infrastructure project, we bring a level of care and precision that comes from a deep respect for the land and the people on it.

"We don’t just clear the ground for new buildings; we clear the path for the next generation of Indigenous tradies."

Led by Paul Towney

As the owner and driving force behind Wiradjuri Demolitions Civil, Paul Towney has always believed that a job site is the best classroom. With over 14 years at the helm, Paul has steered the company through some of the most rigorous safety audits in the country to ensure the business is Tier 1 ready.

His focus isn't just on the plant and equipment, but on the people operating them. Paul is deeply committed to remote community civil training, personally overseeing programs that have already transitioned 50+ Indigenous workers into full-time employment. For Paul, success isn't measured just by the projects completed, but by the families supported and the careers launched within the Wiradjuri community and beyond.
